I know, I know, I owe y’all a post about the Polar Night Half, but between Norway, Sweden, and Denmark and now Disneyland, I haven’t had a moment to breathe, nonetheless look at photos and post a blog! It was awesome; I’ll post more later.

What I really wanted to stick up here was a little thing that has been floating around me head lately. What I learned about and from running in 2013….

In Norway

It’s just past 5 a.m. here in Oslo and I’m itching to go for a run. I’m also tapering, which I don’t normally do before a half. I’ve also been traveling so much. Thanks to an insanely long layover in London, it took 26 hours to get to Oslo from Seattle. I lost even more time because of the time change.

It’s been a while….

….yes, I know, it’s been a while. I have been absolutely swamped with work, running, and, well, work. It feels like I work more hours than I have available. I know you’re supposed to find the time to do whatever your heart desires, but sometimes that just doesn’t happen.

Columbia Winery 10k

This isn’t so much as a race recap as a progress report. I ended Friday with a sore throat and a stuffed up nose–a cold–so Saturday I was a little unfocused. I forgot to take a single photo. I had a goal when I arrived at the winery, run a 1:20. I did that, exactly.

So it begins…

It’s August 1. And I went for a run. Sort of. I ran 1 minute and walked 1  minute, for three miles or so. It was okay.
